1-on-1 Coaching Sessions are a brand new initiative provided in collaboration with Skillshare.
How to Use Your Coaching Session
-
Portfolio Reviews
Putting together a portfolio is hard! Whether you’re making your first portfolio or you’re looking to refresh an old one, getting some outside, professional feedback can help give you the direction you need to feel confident that you’re presenting your putting your best foot forward.
-
Illustration Critiques
You can use your Coaching Session to get trustworthy, professional feedback on your work. My Illustration Critiques will help you push forward when you feel stuck, and they will help you identify strengths and weaknesses so you can keep getting better.
-
Goal-Setting
Without a target to shoot at, you’re just shooting in the wind! While important, goals don’t always seem clear to us. A Coaching Session is a great place to start identifying your strongest dreams and desires. Once you know what you want, everything else becomes so much easier.
-
Illustration Guidance
Sometimes we know where we want to be but don’t know where to start. There are so many different things to learn and so many ways to learn them, and there are likewise so many possible paths to take. By helping you clarify your goals and identify strengths and weaknesses, I can help you find the next right steps to get there.
-
Illustration Tutorials
If you are interested in learning any of the tools or techniques that I use in my classes or illustration work, you may request a Private Tutorial. I specialize in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate. Whether you want to learn a specific technique, brush or effect, or you are more interested in learning my creative process, I’m happy to share what I know with you in our session.
-
Talk to an Illustrator
Illustrators often work alone, and that means we often get stuck in our own heads. A great way to get unstuck is to talk things through with a fellow illustrator! A 1-on-1 session is an opportunity to bounce ideas around and get some much-needed outside feedback, and the surest way to start seeing things more clearly.

About Your Coach
I’m here to help you discover who you are and what you want as an illustrator This will help you decide what to do next. It’s all you. I’m just a listening ear, someone to see things from a different point of view, and tell you what I see.
Of course, as a Top Teacher on Skillshare (to over 130,000 students), an Illustrator (for 100s of brands and businesses around the world) and a Podcaster for illustrators, I have loads of experience to share with you.
But more important than any of this is how I got here — through a lot of hard work, persistence and passion, but also tons of doubt and uncertainty. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re starting from zero, and I know the value of talking with someone who might be a little further ahead for clues about next steps.
So to be clear, I am not a counsellor or a therapist, and I am certainly not a guru! I’m not here to tell you what to do or to fix all your art problems. But I am someone who understands the importance of being heard, of getting nuanced feedback, and sometimes, just being encouraged on in the journey. That’s my role as your coach.
If you think this sounds like something you could use, I’d be honoured to work with you.
