Working independently since 2013, Tom has worked for brands and businesses all over the world. Esteemed clients include Yahoo!, Capital One, GQ France, and Abrams Publishing. He enjoys pouring himself into highly creative projects of all kinds, from maps to murals, and everything in between.
Tom is also passionate about inspiring fellow creatives to become better at what they do. He is a Top Teacher on Skillshare (an actual designation), where tens of thousands of students have learned his unique approaches to illustration. In 2019, he became a regular columnist on Illustration Age, where, in addition to his weekly YouTube channel, he offers insights and inspiration about illustration to those who have ears to hear.
Tom graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design with a B.Des (honours) in 2009.
Tom works from his home studio in the small village of Yarrow, about an hour’s drive east of Vancouver. He is married to Amanda Froese, and they have two beautiful daughters — and a funny cat named Blueberry.
